Our Mia Mia
Our Mia Mia Wellbeing Hub is located at the Douglas Street entrance of Nowra East PS.
The objective of Our Mia Mia is to integrate healthcare into the education setting through improving access to health and social services.
At Our Mia Mia, we foster connections with health professionals and educators to coordinate holistic treatment and implement appropriate student support in a timely manner that is free of charge to the Nowra East Public School community.
Regular screening clinics for vision and hearing are available for all students and siblings and we have a fortnightly dentist clinic on site for emergency treatment and oral health care checkups.
The team at Our Mia Mia are available to discuss the referral pathway to connect with the service providers and practitioners that currently attend Our Mia Mia in the following areas: Paediatrician, Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy, Counselling, Dietician and Exercise Physiology.
Our Mia Mia facilitates community service engagement with outreach services for:
Services Australia - Centrelink, My Gov, Medicare
Service NSW - Free birth certificates (limited availability) and utility bill payment assistance
Anglicare- Family support services and counselling
Legal Aid
